Yi Yun was ultimately not from the Chaos Heavens. The future fate of the humans and Fey in the Chaos Heavens was not something he needed to concern himself with.

Under the Heavenly Dao’s evolution, the various races had to fight for their own survival.

Therefore, swearing on his Dao heart to not be at odds with the Fey’s interests was nothing.

From Yi Yun’s point of view, the greatest danger was the Ancestor God.

He had no idea when the Ancestor God would recover and he had little time to strengthen himself. He needed the opportunity to transcend the Fey Altar’s Heavenly Tribulation.

It was naturally against the rules for humans to enter the Fey Altar.

However… the allure of becoming Fey Patriarch was too great.

The Ruins Emperor was no longer young. If he could not attain his goal in the years to come, there would be no more hope left for him.

The two patriarchs had already decided on making him abdicate—once the crown designate became a Fey Thearch.

The Fey ran things differently from mortal kingdoms. When mortal emperors abdicated, they could become an Emperor Emeritus.

As for a Fey emperor, they could only abdicate in an ignoble manner, leaving them with titles such as former Ruins Emperor.

That was their end.

Being accustomed to a life of glory, it was understandable how one found the drawing of curtains unacceptable. The Ruins Emperor still wished to fight back against his eventual outcome and he saw hope in the Myriad Form Shura Pills.

“Alright, if you can swear upon your Dao heart, I can permit your entry into the Fey Altar.”

Rules were set by people. Compared to his own breakthrough, breaking them was nothing.

“Lichen, test the pills!”

Ruins Emperor looked at Jiang Lichen. Without his instructions, Jiang Lichen had already begun examining the pills that Yi Yun had given him.

The last step of a restoration was neither considered difficult nor easy.

However, Yi Yun’s pill was very different.

He had never seen the patterns and laws on the pills ever.

Originally, Jiang Lichen had done some research on the alchemical techniques of the humans, Ghosts, and Souls. That gave him a healthy amount of confidence.

However, the pills in front of him did not appear to be a result of any alchemical system in the Chaos Heavens.

It was mystical and complex, completely indescribable.

This was akin to the story of a gifted scholar of the mortal world.

This scholar memorized all the important books, was proficient in poetry and the analects. He was great at writing essays, and even well-versed in the zither, chess, calligraphy, and painting, as well as archery and horse-riding.

The scholar was practically flawless!

Being top scholar was a sure bet, and it was even possible for him to be a double top scholar in both civil and military examinations.

However… when he went to take the test, what he faced was… the modern-day National College Entrance Examination.

The examination involved mathematics and combined sciences of physics, chemistry and biology. It would appear like Greek.

The English examination script would look like scribbles.

The only thoughts this promising scholar would have was: are these examination questions? What are these? What does this symbol do? Also, he would not even have seen multiple-choice questions before.

At that moment, Jiang Lichen’s feelings were akin to the poor scholar’s.

Yi Yun’s refinement of the Myriad Form Shura Pills used the Heretical God Fire as its flame. The laws stemmed from the Dao Originator Celestial Thearch’s Dao of Major Destruction and Major Creation. His alchemical techniques stemmed from the Sinkhole’s divine alchemist’s heritage.

Every aspect left Jiang Lichen at a loss.

He did not even need to consider how to solve the problem posed to him, because he couldn’t even understand the problem statement.

He could already determine that it was impossible for him to restore the pills. It was not a matter of time, but a futile attempt akin to a tiger’s attempt to devour the heavens. There was no incisive point of attack.

And worst of all, the pill that he had no idea how it was refined effused a potent medicinal essence; it even had a spiritual quality to it. Jiang Lichen had no doubts to its effects.

On second thought, what Yi Yun said about how they would not comprehend the recipe even if it was given to them was really not empty talk.

He was not mocking them, but simply illustrating a fact.

Sadly, he felt humiliated and became afire with righteous indignation, hoping to prove the alchemical arts of Heaven Fey City.

Seriously… that was embarrassing.

Jiang Lichen wore a bitter look. He never expected the pills to be so unorthodox.

When he noticed that the Ruins Emperor had cast him an askance look, Jiang Lichen widened his mouth. He originally planned on acting to consider a little longer. After all, it was embarrassing if he admitted defeat after taking a few looks.

However, with the realization that Yi Yun had already guessed that he could not understand it at all, any further acting would make him appear like a monkey putting on a show for him. That would be even more awkward.

Forget it…

Jiang Lichen handed the pills back to Yi Yun and bit the bullet. “Pardon my ineptness, I’m unable to figure it out.”

Jiang Lichen’s straightforward statement stunned the Ruins Emperor. That fast?

He did not even take a minute. Although the Ruins Emperor did not know alchemy, he knew what that implied.

The study of alchemy was not something that could be accomplished in a day. If Jiang Lichen could not even understand it, asking him to refine the pill would be an impossible task.

Without surprise, there was perhaps no second person in the Chaos Heavens who could refine those pills.

Obtaining the recipe would be pointless.

After understanding this, the Ruins Emperor looked at Yi Yun differently. He was amazed that the Myriad Form Shura Pills could only be refined by this one person…

And worst of all, these pills were of paramount importance to the Fey. Handling the situation became quite challenging.

Unfortunately, Yi Yun was not a clansmen of the ancient Heaven Fey…

Many thoughts went through the Ruins Emperor’s mind. He was very tempted to keep Yi Yun with the Fey, but he did not dare use any forceful means.

After all, Yi Yun’s development appeared to be boundless from the looks of it. He was only able to make Yi Yun act according to his will for now, but once he offended him and allowed Yi Yun to leave, the situation would only deteriorate.

The Ruins Emperor hesitated for quite some time before deciding to maintain a friendly relationship with Yi Yun. After all, Jiang Xiaorou was his sister and, from the looks of it, their relationship was pretty good. If Jiang Xiaorou helmed the Fey, would Yi Yun’s Myriad Form Shura Pills not be given to her?

He said, “Alright! I can permit your usage of the Fey Altar! However, there is an additional condition. After you transcend the lightning tribulations, I still need you to refine another cauldron of pills. The ingredients will be provided by us Fey. You can take ten percent of the resulting pills!”

The ancient Heaven Fey had the ingredients ready and the main reason why the Ruins Emperor promised Yi Yun ten percent of the pills was because he feared that Yi Yun would not put in full effort.

Of course, for such rare pills, ten percent was too little.

Yi Yun found it acceptable. After all, the ingredients were unpurchasable with his present monetary situation. Furthermore, the Fey Altar was promised.

“Alright!”

Yi Yun agreed to it and set in place the contract.

The situation was not a trifling matter; it even involved the entire ancient Heaven Fey’s interests.

The Ruins Emperor could not make the decision himself, so once Yi Yun left, he reported the situation to the two patriarchs.

With that, Yi Yun’s entry into the Fey Altar was immediately permitted.

The Fey did things swiftly, so Yi Yun’s entry into the Fey Altar was set for three days later.

The opening of the Fey Altar was of immense importance. It was impossible to hide the opening of the array from the Heaven Fey City’s Fey.

Instantly, there was an uproar among the Fey!

Yi Yun, a human, was not only entering their array core, but he was also entering the Fey Altar!?

If it was just the Heaven Fey City’s array core, the powerful Fey geniuses could still have a chance of enjoying that luxury, but the Fey Altar was practically reserved only for royalty.

Even the princes and princesses needed to be conferred titles first. And there were only a few dozen of them in Heaven Fey City. And titled princes and princesses needed to make massive contributions or have excellent results in experiential tests with other races, winning glory for the Fey, before they had a chance at entering the Fey Altar.

Among all the princes, only the Ninth Prince and Sixth Prince had ever entered the Fey Altar.

The Ninth Prince had lit up the third mark of the Heaven Fey totem.

As for the Sixth Prince, he was the direct great-grandson of the Ruins Emperor. With the Ruins Emperor’s merit points, he barely earned a chance at entering the Fey Altar.

Now, faced with Yi Yun’s entry into the Fey Altar, how could the reaction among the Fey warriors not be intense?

“Grandfather, I can’t accept it. Why!?”

Among all the princes, the one who found it least acceptable was Jiang Yuchan!

He had been injured by Yi Yun and tormented by the lightning and fire forces. He nearly lost all his will to live and only through the Ghost Doctor’s help did he barely last to this day. However, it would still take him half a year to completely recover.

Under such circumstances, his reputation was almost in the dumps!

The Fey did not pity failures.

Jiang Yuchan’s battle with Yi Yun was witnessed by countless warriors in Heaven Fey City. He failed miserably!

A tenet of Fey warriors was that failure was a disgrace to the race, so he deserved death. Furthermore, Jiang Yuchan was defeated by a human. It was even more embarrassing!

In fact, after losing to Yi Yun, Jiang Yuchan’s chances at clinching the throne had dropped drastically. Unless he had fortuitous encounters in the future or made great meritorious contributions to redeem himself, the Heaven Fey would not tolerate a failure like Jiang Yuchan inheriting the throne.

To stand up again, Jiang Yuchan had to first crush Yi Yun beneath his feet.

But now, Yi Yun had not only refined the Myriad Form Shura Pills, he had even won the favor of the Ruins Emperor. He had entered the Ruins Emperor Palace and wad even permitted entry into the Fey Altar!

That was the Fey Altar!

A forbidden land of the ancient Heaven Fey. All he could do was dream about it, without any chance of entering it his entire life.

What right did a human like Yi Yun have to do so?

Compared to Yi Yun, their standings were like night and day!

“Grandfather, I can’t accept it! All he did was rely on pills to become a core figure among the Fey?

“With those pills, he convinced His Majesty and the two Patriarchs? Grandfather, didn’t you say that Ghost Doctor poisoned the ingredients? Does he look poisoned in any way?”

Jiang Yuchan fully believed Ghost Doctor’s words in the beginning, but now, Yi Yun was basically frolicking around!

Yi Yun’s craftiness appeared to be above that of the Ghost Doctor’s. That old fogey had been fooled!

If that were the case, weren’t they acting like idiots previously, being fooled without realizing it?

They had used their family clan’s resources to gather all the materials for Yi Yun.

When Yi Yun failed to find the materials, they helped!

When Yi Yun’s finances were lacking, they even reduced the price a little!

This was not just as ridiculous as helping someone count the money used to purchase themselves, but more like sending themselves up to the gallows and helping the executioner grind the blade!

What Jiang Yuchan said was something the Luo King naturally knew as well.

He believed that he was in power in the Heaven Fey City all these years. And even if he did not have perfect strategies, he was someone with a myriad of means. Yet, his actions the past few months were humiliating.

“Young Master Yuchan, are you blaming me?”

At that moment, a sinister voice suddenly sounded. Jiang Yuchan’s neck shrank when he heard that.

Ghost Doctor!

He had naturally received the news regarding Yi Yun’s entry into the Fey Altar.
