Chapter 42 The First Appearance of the Saber and Sword Double Ancestry, Pt.（2）

“It’s beneficial in a… very good and practical way. You’ll know this in future,” said the male voice. He sounded as if he wanted to continue speaking but did not.

“That’s right. Rest a.s.sured, we are inside your body but bear no ill intentions. Instead, you start to gain many benefits, and when the time is right and conditions are met, we’ll leave your body,” said the female voice in a gentle tone she rarely used till now.

“I know what the young chap is worried about.”

“You can rest a.s.sured that we’ll definitely not engage in despicable tricks like possessing your body.”

“That’s true. Who cares about the weak carca.s.ses of you humans?”

“That’s right. To think that I used to possess a body sharp enough to slice through metal. One must know that I was made of divine meteoric steel combined with 1000 other stunning materials…” the female voice said.

“Ahem… young chap, if you really want us to leave your body, what you have to do now is to hurry up and train to build your power… It’s not that we don’t want to leave, but we can’t.”

The two voices complemented each other. The female voice had nearly said something before the male voice coughed to stop her.

“It seems like I’ll be unable to get these two people to leave my body for now,” Ding Hao thought. Even so, his instincts told him that most likely; these two mysterious and self-important characters did not bear him any ill will.

“Oh yes, was it both of you who saved me when I fell from the cliff at that time?” asked Ding Hao as he recalled something.

He remembered that he had fallen 10 feet from the cliff before, and logically speaking, he could not have directly fallen into a cave, but yet he had woke up in one. As such, he deduced that something must have happened without his knowledge during the period when he was unconscious.

“We cannot take credit for that,” said the female voice.

“After 100,000 years of expending, both of us lost our physical bodies and only our consciousnesses remain. We don’t have such an ability to break your fall,” said the male voice.

“The structure of this cave is unique. Every 10 days, an extremely strong vacuum will be created at its entrance,” continued the female voice.

“It lasts for three minutes every time,” the male voice added.

“That’s why I said that your ancestral burial ground must have caught fire, resulting in you having such extraordinary luck. If the timing of your fall had not coincided with the creation of the vacuum that day, you wouldn’t have entered the cave…” the female voice said, continuously marveling at Ding Hao’s luck.

“You would have fallen to your death long ago, and there would have been no way for us to fix you,” continued the male voice.

Now, finally, Ding Hao understood how lucky he was to have fallen near the cave at the exact moment the vacuum was created. Otherwise, he would have crashed into the bottom of the cliff and became a piece of meat pie.

“Since both of you have already attached yourselves to my body a long time ago, why do you guys reveal yourself until now?” asked Ding Hao.

“Previously, you were too weak and there was no way you could have roused us. Only after reaching the Peak of the one-apertured Martial Disciple level could your body and Qi bear our divine will,” said the female voice derisively, as if she was rolling her eyes at this very moment.

“…” Ding Hao had no comeback.

“Right, when I was practicing the Taixuan Sword-seeking Scripture earlier on, all of my Qi suddenly dissipated as it neared my Fate Sea point. Do both of you know what happened?” Ding Hao asked.

After a brief exchange of words with the voices, Ding Hao’s focus quickly went back to the unexpected event when he was training previously.

“This is actually the most pressing and fatal issue I have to tackle,” he thought.

“Haha, this is where the ‘Holy Double Manifestation of Saber and Sword’ is most profound,” said the male voice proudly.

“The technique refers to a way of improving one’s skill, no matter with the saber or sword; they can improve by leaps and bounds. It also allows one to cultivate at an unprecedented speed.” The female voice briefly explained.

The male voice continued to explain to support his company’s theory. “However, this system has a restriction that cannot be overlooked. That is, no matter whether one is training in saber or sword technique, if one trains in only one of them, upon reaching every stage, one will face obstacles that will be hard to surmount. One has to train in both types of techniques to achieve breakthrough and advancement to the next stage.”

“Now, you’re practicing sword craft alone. You’ve already created the Seed of Qi for the Chilly Sword technique and opened two-ninths of the first meridian of your Hand’s Minor Yin. You’ve refined your Holy Spring point and achieved the one-apertured Martial Disciple stage. This is known as Qi of Sword Craft.” The female voice continued explaining.

“Therefore, according to the special restrictions of the ‘Holy Double Manifestation of Saber and Sword’, if you wish to cultivate your Fate Sea point to the two-apertured Martial Disciple stage, you have to train yourself to generate a form of saber technique Qi. Only then, can you achieve a breakthrough.” The male voice concluded.

“Seed of Qi of a saber technique? Do you mean that a human body can create a second Seed of Qi? This is impossible, isn’t it?” asked Ding Hao. He had not fully understood what the voices were suggesting and the idea seemed to be inconceivable to him.

According to the principle of martial arts learning in the Land of Infinity, one could only trigger a single Seed of Qi during their lifetime.

This was because everyone possessed only one dantian and one cultivation system known as the 12 standard meridians.

To trigger a second Seed of Qi in one’s body was an idea that was preposterous and improbable.

“Wahahahaha, naturally, it would be impossible for normal folk to generate a second Seed of Qi. From the beginning of time, even those experts in the realm of Martial Emperor and Martial Grand Emperor have failed to do so,” said the male voice. He seemed to have deduced what Ding Hao was thinking about.

“However, hehe, it’s entirely chicken feed for someone who carries a lineage as extraordinary as the ‘Holy Double Manifestation of Saber and Sword’. Wahahaha,” the female voice continued along the lines of the male voice’s statement.

A great sense of pride was detected in her slightly vulgar laughter.

“Oh? Why do you say that?” Ding Hao asked, interested in their strange theories.

“In the body of an ordinary person, there is one dantian, 12 meridians, and 108 apertures. In the body of someone carrying the ‘Holy Double Manifestion of Saber and Sword’ lineage, there are two dantians, a second meridian pathway, and countless other apertures. All of them form a second training system independent of the 12 major pathways,” the male voice said. He could not stop talking now.

“The Holy Double Manifestation of Saber and Sword comes equipped with a second training pathway?” asked Ding Hao. He was shook emotionally; as this was the first time he had heard about such a theory.

It completely smashed the fixed rules of the martial arts community in this world.

“Could someone really train two dantians, two Seeds of Qi, two meridian pathways, and two kinds of Qi at the same time?” he thought.

“Haha, young chap, your mind is spinning now, right?” the female voice asked as she laughed heartily.

A thought flashed across Ding Hao’s mind, jolting him like a bolt of lightning. He suddenly realized the problem with his training.

“According to both of you, I have the const.i.tution of the Holy Double Manifestation of Saber and Sword, and it gives me a natural advantage as well as some predetermined restrictions. It turns out at that moment, when the Icy Qi suddenly dissipated near my Fate Sea aperture; it was because I cultivated the swordsmans.h.i.+p Qi alone, without training up my second meridian pathway. As such, I failed because I encountered said fixed restrictions, not because there was something wrong with my training!”

“That’s right. You’re not too dumb, young chap,” said the male voice as he nodded in satisfaction.

Ding Hao did not mind the condescending implication in the male voice’s words and sought his advice humbly instead. “What should I do now, my two elders?”

The female voice flew into a rage the moment she heard how he addressed her, as if she was a kid who had her sweet taken from her. “Brat, don’t call me your elder. I’m still very young. Call me big sister… no, call me younger sister… no, I would be younger than you that way. Call me ‘Miss’!”

“…” Ding Hao was speechless.
