Chapter 1067: Obsidian Wyrm

Hence, although they could barely get close to the battlefield previously, they could now move freely under that mighty pressure.

The six pseudo-Sanctuary powerhouses led their respective teams, but they didn’t attack the existence under Cage Island right away. Instead, they each activated their Magical Domain that contained tinges of Sanctuary aura. According to Lin Li’s previous arrangement, they each occupied a spot on the battlefield, connecting the Magical Domains to suppress the power of the existence under Cage Island.

At the same time, Lin Li also opened his own Domain World, and a vibrant world emerged from the thick dark clouds, descending onto Cage Island. The heavy dark clouds were melting under the sun like ice and snow at a speed visible to the naked eye.

As Lin Li and the others took action, the power of that existence under Cage Island was also dispersed by the crowd immediately. Elder Zumar, who was struggling to hold on on Cage Island, finally had a chance to catch his breath. However, he couldn’t get out of the trap completely, and still had to bear most of the attacks from that power.

That was one of the steps in Lin Li’s plan, which was to absolutely not let the people of the Gilded Kingdom get out of the trap easily. Firstly, he was worried that the people of the Gilded Kingdom might flee immediately after getting out of the trap, and the other reason was that he wanted the Sanctuary powerhouse Elder Zumar to continue bearing most of the pressure. Since the Gilded Kingdom had held out for so long, they could continue for longer.

Lin Li’s concern was not unreasonable. After all, the Gilded Kingdom was a foreign force, and its relations.h.i.+p with the forces of the Breezy Plains was far from being comrades who fought against the same enemy. If the Gilded Kingdom chose to reap all the benefits after breaking free from the trap, it wouldn’t be surprising at all.

On Cage Island, Elder Zumar who was supporting the oceanic world could obviously feel that the pressure outside had been reduced greatly. He finally heaved a sigh of relief, but the pressure was still on his shoulders, and his oceanic world was still the main target of the existence under Cage Island.

Just like what Lin Li was worried about, Elder Zumar wanted to pit the forces of the Breezy Plains against the existence under Cage Island while the Gilded Kingdom reaped the benefits. However, his plan had obviously fallen through, and the other party simply did not give him the opportunity to fulfill his plan.

If Elder Zumar was alone, it probably wouldn’t be too difficult for him to forcefully break away from the battlefield. However, he was still protecting the other people of the Gilded Kingdom in his oceanic world, and perhaps even a G.o.d would not be able to leave with those people.

However, this time, it was a team of elites of the Gilded Kingdom, and even if Elder Zumar was stone-hearted, he could not bring himself to give them up. If they were abandoned, it would be a huge loss for the Gilded Kingdom and the Illuminati. Despite his powerful status, he wouldn’t be able to answer for it when he returned.

At this moment, the existence under Cage Island seemed to have felt the extra pressure as the magical waves in the entire place became even more vigorous. The gigantic mountain-peak like waves seemed to have suddenly come to life as they began launching an attack on the various sources of pressure.

Those sources of pressure were naturally the teams led by the six pseudo-Sanctuary powerhouses. In fact, with their strength, they were actually too incompetent to partic.i.p.ate in a battle of such a level, but with the Spiritual Network formed by the Magic Net rings, their power was somewhat connected. Although they were far from becoming one, their network could not be broken easily, especially since Lin Li and Elder Zumar bore the brunt of the attack for them.

From that point, Lin Li could tell that the usage of power of the existence below Cage Island was completely instinctual. It was unclear if the imprisoned ent.i.ty had really awakened. Anyone with a working brain would probably choose to gather power to focus on a single point instead of launching a full-blown attack on everyone.

It could be said that the existence under Cage Island was instinctively distributing its power according to the strength of the enemy. Hence, the stronger ones would bear more pressure, while the weaker ones would be under less pressure. Of course, that was only relative. After all, for those who were weaker, even a small amount of power was quite a lot to bear.

Fortunately, the people of the Breezy Plains, who had long been warned by Lin Li, had each exerted their full strength from the moment they entered the battlefield. Therefore, in the face of the immense pressure, they did not have any close shaves with death even though they were coping with great difficulty. The six teams led by the six pseudo-Sanctuary powerhouses managed to hold back a considerable amount of the pressure, which played a very important role in the overall situation during the battle.

Seeing the performance of the people of the Breezy Plains, Elder Zumar couldn’t help but be a little surprised as he’d never thought that the Breezy Plains would actually be able to put together such a force. Besides, their performance was completely beyond his imagination, and he felt that they were a team right from the beginning.

Of course, Elder Zumar did not know that the key reason that they could perform so well was because they were all wearing the Magic Net rings that Lin Li had given them. At the same time, it was also because they had vaguely recognized Lin Li as their leader. The forces were initially in a state of disunity where none of them wanted to submit to anyone. However, when a leader appeared and managed to convince everyone, they naturally united.

The performance of those people in the Breezy Plains was only a surprise to Elder Zumar as he was greatly astounded when he felt the ma.s.sive magical fluctuations coming from above his head. If he hadn’t understood the Ashen Warlock well, he would have even thought that the Ashen Warlock had appeared because he remembered that the only Sanctuary powerhouse in the Breezy Plains who could reach such a strength seemed to be the Ashen Warlock. It also seemed that only the Ashen Warlock would dare to threaten the Gilded Kingdom and the Illuminati.

However, Elder Zumar felt that the magical waves coming from above were extremely different from those of the Ashen Warlock. He could clearly sense that the magical wave was full of vitality, creation, and comprehension of the world. It could be described as perfection.

Elder Zumar simply could not imagine what kind of person could master the World Laws to such an extent. Even the three Arbitrators of the Supreme Council who had challenged him in the past seemed to be inferior to this in terms of perfection. In fact, even though he refused to admit it, he couldn’t deny that even the priest of the Illuminati did not master the World Laws to such a perfect extent.

Overwhelmed with astonishment and curiosity, Elder Zumar tilted his head to look up at the vibrant Domain World, only to be greeted with a sight that shocked him even more. He did not expect to see such a young person in the Domain World. The figure even gave him an illusion that he had just seen Geresco the G.o.d of Mages who had led the rebellion and overthrown the rule of the High Elves.

“Elder Zumar, if you don’t start sealing it now, when will you do it?” Lin Li said hostilely in midair when he sensed Elder Zumar’s gaze. What a joke. This old man is still s.p.a.cing out at such a juncture. If that creature under Cage Island escapes, let’s see how you cry.

After being rebuked by Lin Li, Elder Zumar finally recovered from the shock. His face was flushed, and he said to his subordinates in the oceanic world, “Quick, repeat what you’ve done before and reinforce the seal.” As he said that, he expanded his oceanic World Domain to cover the entire island.

Hearing Elder Zumar’s command, the people in the oceanic world dared not delay at all as they immediately took action. The mages who were previously responsible for reinforcing the seal immediately expanded the World Domain, returned to their respective positions, and activated the Alchemy Array used to reinforce the seal.

However, with the reactivation of the Alchemy Array, the existence sealed below Cage Island seemed to feel threatened, and immediately increased the intensity of the counterattack. The sea around Cage Island seemed to overturn as the roaring waves emitted peculiar rays of light. The terrifying power seemed to also make the world tremble.

It was as if there was a violent earthquake on Cage Island as it started shaking vigorously like a small boat in a storm. Those who were activating the Alchemy Array were shaking to the point of rolling everywhere on the ground.

Seeing such a scene, Elder Zumar did not dare to slow down at all. Instead, he quickly chanted a vague incantation while driving the staff in his hand into the ground. The power of the oceanic world immediately surged into the island as if it was trying to pull the island into the Domain World.

Of course, with Elder Zumar’s strength, it was almost impossible to incorporate Cage Island into the Domain World. Not to mention him, a high-level Sanctuary-realm, even a peak Sanctuary powerhouse probably couldn’t achieve such a feat. However, as the power of the Domain World surged in, the vibrations ceased a little, as if the storm gradually pa.s.sed. The mages also returned to their respective positions and resumed their tasks.

The people of the Breezy Plains who shared the pressure outside Cage Island had also slipped into a very difficult situation. After all, Elder Zumar was focused on maintaining stability on Cage Island, and thus did not have the energy to take care of the pressure outside.

The people of the Breezy Plains were originally a combination of pseudo-Sanctuary powerhouses and those who were at the peak of the Legendary level. Even with the Spiritual Network of the Magic Net rings, the strength of each team was at most equivalent to someone who had just stepped into the Sanctuary-realm. However, the opponent they were facing was a powerful existence at the peak of the Sanctuary-realm, which was also akin to a demiG.o.d.

Although the seal of Cage Island greatly limited the power of that terrifying existence, the counterattacks were still unbearable for the crowd from the Breezy Plains. Under the intense counterattack, the people of the Breezy Plains felt as if they would be ripped into shreds at any moment.

However, when they found it hard to hang on, they suddenly realized that a strange light was hovering above their heads, and at the same time there was an additional presence in the Spiritual Network. A huge amount of power was poured into their bodies through the Spiritual Network. However, the item above the head of each team was different. Some had a ball of holy white light, while some had tree branches with tender leaves or flames.

What helped the teams defend themselves against the attack were six of the seven pieces of the debris of the stars that Lin Li had released, while the only one that remained in his hand was the debris of the stars, Nothingness. In fact, when Lin Li put them into groups, he had already taken that into consideration, and divided those with similar mana characteristics together all for the sake of using the power of the debris of the stars to help them at the critical moment.

With the help of the debris of the stars, the teams from the Breezy Plains supported themselves, and it was if the situation on the battlefield had been reversed. However, roars of a dragon came from below Cage Island suddenly at this moment. The sound was extraordinarily clear despite the loud sounds of explosions.

Immediately afterwards, a ma.s.sive black figure emerged from the water, breaking through the surface of the sea and surging into the sky. Those people finally saw that there were several large dragons which seemed distorted and illusory. However, they could still feel the daunting might of the dragon and the horrifying power.

Those black dragons were the ghosts of ancient wyrms after their death. Although their power had decreased, each one of them still had Legendary-level power. The ghosts of such wyrms might not pose a threat if there were only one or two of them. However, as more and more ghosts of the wyrms appeared, they would form a horrifying force.

The wyrm ghosts were from the legendary Obsidian Wyrm race whose king was one of the five Dragon Aspects, the famous Azardas, the Dragon of Destruction. Even during the prehistoric times, the Obsidian Wyrms were terrifying existences which meant the descent of Eternal Darkness. Everything would be destroyed in darkness.
