Chapter 895: Super Lich

Hence, after a discussion with the elders, Claus looked for Lin Li, determined to make connections with him at all costs. Was it embarra.s.sing to b.u.t.ter him up as soon as he entered? He was sucking up to a Sanctuary powerhouse. Others might not even have the chance to do it!

“Master Felic, here’s the thing. I heard that you’re interested in the portion of land of Pandaria, right? I, too, think that the Tower of Dusk’s current territory is somewhat unsuitable for its current status and power. If you like it, I would like to give you Pandaria’s territory as a congratulatory gift on your entry to the Sanctuary-realm. What do you think?” Claus was very direct with his words, and his voice was devoid of his usual cunningness. However, he wanted to be straightforward and clearly express his intention of wanting to cozy up to Lin Li. If he were to get up to mind games with a Sanctuary powerhouse, wouldn’t he be courting death?

Pandaria was a territory in the northwest of the Breezy Plains, and its area was roughly the size of two Doland Cities. It was relatively rich in mineral resources and herbs. The two cities in Pandaria, Pandaria City and Kombu City, were both famous cities in the Breezy Plains. There were also a few other small- and medium-sized cities in Pandaria, and it was considered a relatively prosperous region, so there were also plenty of local forces.

Lin Li was also a little thrilled. After thinking about it, he said in amus.e.m.e.nt, “Patriarch Claus, if I remember correctly, it seems that Pandaria does not belong to the Caesar Family, right?”

“You don’t have to worry about that, we can acquire it, and I can guarantee to give you a complete Pandaria.”

How would they go about that? Resort to violence, of course. As long as he could suck up to a Sanctuary powerhouse, Claus didn’t care about the survival of other forces.

Lin Li originally didn’t intend to do anything to the Caesar Family anyway. At any rate, during the previous business conflict, the Caesar Family had never taken advantage of the Tower of Dusk. Of course, if they were to continue being senseless and stand on the same side as the Mithril Alliance, it would be a different matter. As for now, Lin Li did have some interest in the Pandaria region, although he could do without it. However, since the Caesar Family had taken the initiative to offer to acquire it for him, he decided to leave them be.

After a short conversation, Lin Li finally agreed, and Claus had finally achieved his goal. Hence, he was naturally overjoyed. If it weren’t for the fact that he still had to explore the mausoleum now, he would have probably arranged for someone to seize Pandaria immediately. Seeing that Lin Li had reached out to pick up the Book of Eternity, Claus immediately stood up tactfully and bade goodbye to Lin Li. He then left the tent smilingly.

“By the way, Patriarch Claus, please wait a moment,” said Lin Li, who was suddenly reminded of something when Claus was about to leave. Hence, he decided to stop him.

“Master Felic, do you have any instructions for me?” Claus asked respectfully as he quickly turned around.

Claus’ respectful and flattering att.i.tude made Lin Li feel a little uncomfortable. He waved his hands, and said, “As I remember, it seems that one of the elders of the Caesar Family got injured when we fought the Iceblast Wyrm just now. I’m afraid the Life Potions won’t be of much use. I have a potion here that you can give him.”

Lin Li then took out an emerald green potion and gave it to Claus. Of course, he wasn’t going to give the potion to him for free. Claus’ att.i.tude was one of the reasons, and on the other hand, Lin Li was also considering the relic that Sindera mentioned. Lin Li also needed to strengthen the expedition team as much as possible.

After obtaining the potion, Claus could immediately sense its extraordinariness as the aura of life that it emitted was much more concentrated than that of a box of Life Potions. It was probably no longer a Master-level potion. It seemed that the legends were real. He thought, President Felic is not only amazingly talented in magic, he also has Master-level attainments in concocting potions.

However, what made Claus the most excited was not the value of the potion, but the fact that Lin Li had given the potion to him. He had no idea what exactly Lin Li and Sindera had talked about. In his opinion, the act of doing so meant that Lin Li valued the Caesar Family since Lin Li, a Sanctuary powerhouse, actually cared about an injured elder from his family.

After showering Lin Li with another bunch of compliments and thanking him while expressing his loyalty, Claus finally bade him farewell again. He then left the camp of the Tower of Dusk with the joy of having achieved his goal.

Staring at Claus’ back as he was leaving, Joseph, who stood not too far away from the tent, felt like vomiting blood. When Lin Li spoke to Claus, he did not deliberately lower his voice or try to cover him. Although Joseph did not hear clearly, he was vaguely aware of what they talked about.

d.a.m.n it, that b.a.s.t.a.r.d Claus is really shameless. He’s the hallowed patriarch of the Caesar Family, and yet he could bring himself to flatter and suck up to him without any bottom line. Does he still have any shame!? Joseph cursed Claus’ shamelessness in his heart, but he didn’t proceed to see Lin Li. Instead, he turned around and left the camp of the Tower of Dusk in frustration.

It couldn’t be helped. Even if Joseph met Lin Li now, he wouldn’t have anything to say. He had also prepared to use Pandaria for a breakthrough. After all, it wasn’t a secret to them, but he didn’t expect to let Claus get ahead of him because of a moment of hesitation.

However, he couldn’t let the matter rest just like that. He still had to think of a way to improve the relations.h.i.+p with the Tower of Dusk. Otherwise, it would be difficult for the Mithril Alliance to leave the mausoleum. It might even end up being their burial ground! At the thought of the terrifying consequences, Joseph felt like he was going to go crazy.

After Claus left, Lin Li continued to read the Book of Eternity carefully, combining his insights from the debris of the stars and increasing his understanding of the Sanctuary-realm. Of course, half a day was not enough to make Lin Li’s strength increase drastically and achieve a breakthrough. It could only solidify his realm and allow his strength to be more in line with it. After all, he managed to enter the Sanctuary-realm this time because he had sufficient acc.u.mulation in all aspects. If he wanted to make another breakthrough in his strength, he would need more acc.u.mulation before he could do so.

However, there were a few figures getting busy outside the camp. Lin Li’s two Undead servants, Uljfalusi and Norfeller, as well as the Crimson Dragon and the Crimson Humerus Dragon, were continuously moving from one skeleton to the next, but each time they got close to a Humerus Wyrm, they would stay still quietly for a moment before moving on to the next one.

There were hundreds of Humerus Wyrms, each possessing Legendary-level strength. Their soul fires were like heavenly treasures to Undead creatures. Unfortunately, when Sindera left, it destroyed the Humerus Wyrms. No Legendary Dragon Crystals were left, and it also extinguished their soul fire. Otherwise, the soul fire of the hundreds of Humerus Wyrms would be enough to make the two Undead servants and Humerus Wyrms reach the peak of the Legendary-realm.

Although the soul fires of the Humerus Wyrms were extinguished, there was still more or less some power left in the s.p.a.ce around them. Without cohesion, that power would soon disappear completely. The two Undead servants and Humerus Wyrms were doing their best to collect the remaining power.

While collecting all the power, Ujfalusi was also doing something that would give ordinary people thrills. He was picking intact bones from the Humerus Wyrms and using them to replace the bones of the Crimson Humerus Dragon. That Humerus Wyrm of Ujfalusi’s had been destroyed in Osric’s mausoleum when he fought the Zago Demon. Later on, he also replaced its skeleton with one that he brought back from the green dragons’ graveyard.

However, although a green dragon was also a real dragon, it had the thinnest bloodline amongst all the dragons, and was naturally the weakest one. Strictly speaking, a green dragon was already quite close to those beasts that had the bloodline of a wyrm but were not in the form of wyrms. Prince Brahere actually let the Iceblast Wyrm Sindera lead the Humerus Wyrm Legion. Those Humerus Wyrms were definitely not on the same level as green dragons. Although they were not ancient wyrms, they should be direct descendants of the ancient wyrms, like the Crimson Dragon.

Therefore, the skeletons of those wyrms were definitely much better than that of green dragons in terms of quality. Even if they did not collect the power of the scattered soul fires, there would definitely be a considerable increase in strength as long as he replaced the bones of the Crimson Humerus Dragon. However, the skeletons of the Humerus Wyrms had also been destroyed by Sindera that did so because he didn’t want others to use them again. Hence, Ujfalusi could only pick out relatively intact bones from each skeleton.

Fortunately, there were enough wyrm skeletons to choose from, and he could pick out some complete ones out of the hundreds of them—it wasn’t like Sindera had crushed them all. After moving through 60-70 spots, the Humerus Wyrm that Ujfalusi controlled finally looked decent. It had become much larger, and its bones were much stronger. With the new skeleton, it would be no problem for the strength of the Crimson Humerus Dragon to increase.

Of course, the biggest gain was still the power of those soul fires, even though only a small portion was left. However, to the four Undead creatures, it was still a ma.s.sive amount of power. As they continuously collected it, the mana waves of the four Undead creatures were also clearly increasing steadily. It was simply a feast for the Undead creatures.

Lin Li was reading the Book of Eternity when he was suddenly interrupted as he sensed that Norfeller had already returned to the front of the tent. Hence, he asked, “Have you already collected all? That’s fast.”

After all, there were hundreds of Humerus Wyrms which had scattered power. It would take a lot of effort to collect all.

“No, I’ve had enough. They’re still going on,” Norfeller answered straightforwardly outside.

Enough? Norfeller’s realm didn’t seem to have increased, though. Lin Li was first puzzled, but he soon thought of Norfeller’s ident.i.ty. Although Vampires were also considered Undead creatures, there was still a difference between them and ordinary Undead creatures. Absorbing the power of soul fire could indeed increase their strength, but the essential thing was blood essence that contained ma.s.sive power.

For Vampires, blood essence containing ma.s.sive power was like a key to unlocking the shackles of their bodies. The power of soul fire could increase the abilities of Vampires, but blood essence could cause Vampires to evolve. Back in the green dragon lair in the Haiga Mountain Range, Norfeller managed to enter the Legendary-realm with the blood essence of three green dragons.

Lin Li had blood that contained ma.s.sive power, and the blood of the Dragon of Destruction in the Ring of Endless Storm was enough to form a blood lake. However, as one of the five Dragon Aspects, Azardas was an existence that was almost G.o.dlike. Given Norfeller’s current strength, he couldn’t withstand even a single drop of the power in the Dragon of Destruction’s blood, because it was too overbearing. The power did not refer to mana, but rather the power of the bloodline. A single drop of it would make Norfeller’s body collapse.

It seemed that if Norfeller wanted to evolve and break through the realm again, he would have to find a type of blood that was more suitable for him. Lin Li didn’t have a fitting solution, however. He could only put it aside, and focus his energy on the Book of Eternity again.

Compared to Norfeller, Ujfalusi and the two Humerus Wyrms were not restricted by bloodline, and the power of the soul fire seemed to have a direct effect on the increment of their strength. All they needed to do was to continuously incorporate that power into their own soul fire and strengthen it.

When Ujfalusi returned, he had already successfully advanced to level-24, which made him feel glad that he had acknowledged the right master. If he hadn’t followed Lin Li and continued hiding in the ruins of Syer Town, he probably would have never encountered such a good thing. He might have been casually extinguished by some powerhouse. Although he had to take part in dangerous battles, he also made great gains. Otherwise, advancing to level-24 would only have been a far-fetched dream for him.

As for the two Humerus Wyrms, they had also made equally great gains, both reaching the peak of level-23. Besides, the Crimson Humerus Dragon also had a complete body and the Heart of the Fallen, while the Crimson Humerus Wyrm had a stronger skeleton. Even if it was compared to a genuine level-24 Legendary powerhouse, its combat power wouldn’t be that much weaker.

Half a day of rest pa.s.sed quickly. Li put away the Book of Eternity and went out of the tent. The teams from the Tower of Dusk and the other three forces had also started to prepare for their departure.

After getting half a day of rest, and consuming the potions provided by Lin Li, the people who had survived that fierce battle had basically recovered their strength. However, due to the high number of casualties during the battle, which could not be salvaged by the potions, the strength of the other teams was much inferior to that in the beginning, except for the Tower of Dusk’s mages.
