Chapter 1126: Standing Up

After all, they had already formed a cooperative relations.h.i.+p with the Tower of Dusk where the latter’s well-being concerned theirs too. As long as the Tower of Dusk was still in dominance, they would definitely be in control of the negotiation with the Gilded Kingdom too. If the Tower of Dusk was at a loss, the Gilded Kingdom would definitely have the upper hand during the negotiation.

Of course, not all of them thought the same way. For example, Joseph and a few other representatives who were afraid of trouble did not appear among the crowd.

If Delano was smart enough, he should have thought of a way to divide the people of the Breezy Plains at this time, and alienate the Tower of Dusk entirely. However, Delano simply did not take them seriously. Besides, the wise adjutant wasn’t around, so he did not even bother with the others, and simply arrogantly said to Lin Li, “Felic, do you think I will release your s.h.i.+p just because you released a monster? Stop dreaming, now that my fleet has arrived at the port, that monster you released will soon be destroyed, and it will be the concrete evidence of your housing a fugitive of the kingdom.”

Although Delano was maligning and accusing him, Lin Li did not react much. However, the representatives of the forces of the Breezy Plains were already in an uproar. They had arrived at that place together on The Star, and according to what Delano said, wouldn’t they and the others be suspected too?

Besides, more importantly, the representatives of the Breezy Plains were not three-year-olds, and they all knew what tricks Delano was playing. Delano had framed the Tower of Dusk without restraint, and that made the other people of the Breezy Plains feel a sense of crisis.

Delano the commander of the fleet could easily frame the Tower of Dusk. Hence, wouldn’t the other forces that were inferior to the Tower of Dusk be at the mercy of the Gilded Kingdom? At this moment, the feeling of joy that they had felt after they had been personally received by the king of the Gilded Kingdom vanished from their hearts.

“Outrageous, do you really think that the people of the Breezy Plains are pushovers?!” Claus of the Caesar Family yelled at Delano furiously, and turned to face the others. “Everyone, since the Gilded Kingdom is underestimating us, let’s show them that the people of the Breezy Plains can not be provoked easily!”

Of course, Claus wasn’t really angry. Although he was displeased with Delano, he wanted to take this opportunity to show his loyalty to the Tower of Dusk, and that was a priority to him. Frankly, such an opportunity was really rare. After all, there were very few ignorant forces in the Breezy Plains who dared to provoke the Tower of Dusk. Talk was cheap, and he had to use his actions to prove his loyalty.

Although they were now facing a ma.s.sive force like the Gilded Kingdom, the Tower of Dusk still had the final say in the Breezy Plains. There was no problem with sucking up to the Gilded Kingdom, but if they had to pick between the Tower of Dusk and the Gilded Kingdom, a smart person wouldn’t choose the latter. Otherwise, the forces in the Breezy Plains would have to give up their businesses that they had managed for hundreds or even thousands of years.

Yes, the Gilded Kingdom seemed to be more powerful, and they also had the support of the Illuminati, where Elder Zumar was probably not the only Sanctuary powerhouse. However, the Sanctuary powerhouses were almost immortal, and who could guarantee that the power of the Gilded Kingdom would be enough for them to kill Lin Li, who was already a high-level Sanctuary powerhouse? That was also the reason that the Gilded Kingdom had put up such a front this time, hoping to maintain the current peace with the Tower of Dusk and Breezy Plains.

The Gilded Kingdom could not do anything to Lin Li, but it would be a piece of cake for Lin Li to deal with the forces in the Breezy Plains. The Gilded Kingdom couldn’t possibly send some Sanctuary powerhouses to help the small forces deal with the Tower of Dusk. Even if they would, it would probably be too late. After all, the Tower of Dusk had a Sanctuary powerhouse and the Sky Castle, making it a piece of cake for them to get rid of some n.o.bodies.

However, cozying up to the Tower of Dusk would bring about more benefits to them. Along the journey, they had already gained plenty of benefits, and each of them had obtained many of the various treasures in the Endless Ocean.

Most importantly, with the Sanctuary powerhouse of the Tower of Dusk as the leader, the various forces were not at a loss during the negotiation with the Gilded Kingdom, even though they did not get a lot of benefits. They did not think that the Gilded Kingdom would be so nice to them because they were from the Breezy Plains. If not for the Tower of Dusk and Lin Li, the forces probably would have been disregarded by the Gilded Kingdom.

That was not an a.s.sumption. It was obvious from the things that the Gilded Kingdom had done in the Breezy Plains at the beginning that the Gilded Kingdom was not as peace-loving as they claimed to be. At that time, the Gilded Kingdom did not know the strength of the Tower of Dusk yet, and they directly sent teams of elites to conduct robberies around the Breezy Plains, causing the forces of the Breezy Plains to be overwhelmed with anxiety. It was only when the Tower of Dusk showed its impressive strength, and destroyed the battles.h.i.+ps of the Gilded Kingdom that the latter had no choice but to negotiate with them.

Hence, Claus understood that even if they wanted to strengthen their cooperation with the Gilded Kingdom, the first condition they had to fulfill was to cozy up to the Tower of Dusk. Otherwise, regardless of whether they were the top forces of the Breezy Plains or families with rich heritage, the people of the Gilded Kingdom would not take them seriously.

Claus took the lead to express his dissatisfaction with Delano, after which everyone else immediately chimed in in agreement. After all, those who could come on behalf of their respective forces were not fools.

“What? Do you guys want to stand up for him? Don’t forget, this is not the countryside where you come from. None of you can s.h.i.+rk the responsibility for this matter!” Delano did not take any of them seriously, because this was his territory, and he could easily transfer an army over to take down that group of people.

Besides, Delano did not believe that the country b.u.mpkins from the Breezy Plains would really have the guts to make any trouble there. As he said, it was the Gilded Kingdom, and even the envoys of the Ledin Kingdom and Felan Kingdom had to obey them and act according to instructions, let alone the forces of the Breezy Plains.

“Hah! Everyone, we, the people of the Breezy Plains, are being belittled. Can you tolerate it? Anyway, I can’t! Those of you who are willing, come with me, we’ll go s.n.a.t.c.h The Star back from the port, and let the people of the Gilded Kingdom see that the country b.u.mpkins of the Breezy Plains are not to be trifled with!” Claus said to the people behind him sneeringly as he turned around. Before they could reply, he took the lead and dashed straight toward Helena Port.

“Hey, hey, it’s been so frustrating talking to them in the past few days. This is a good chance for us to let them see that we people of the Breezy Plains are not that easy to fool,” said Mogadi, the president of the Blood Moon Clan, as he laughed and clenched his fits while spreading his wings open. He then flew towards Claus.

As soon as they saw Claus and Mogadi, the members from the two top forces, leave, the remaining people were naturally not willing to lag behind. Without even looking at Delano and the others, they used the Power of Flight, and flew towards Helena Port on their own.

Seeing this situation, Delano was a little dumbfounded. The reaction of the people of the Breezy Plains was obviously beyond his expectations. In his opinion, once he put the blame on the Tower of Dusk, those people should have immediately drawn a line between themselves and the Tower of Dusk. Otherwise, they could just forget about the cooperation with the Gilded Kingdom. However, what he didn’t expect was that this group of people, who he thought would be timid and afraid of losing out, actually chose to openly confront the Gilded Kingdom at this moment.

The group of people from the Breezy Plains were all Legendary powerhouses, with the worst being level-22. There were many who were at the peak of the Legendary-realm too. Such a force might not be able to go against the entire Gilded Kingdom, but there was definitely no problem with dealing with Delano’s Fifth Fleet.

Pointing at the crowd, Delano was suddenly speechless, though it was unclear if it was because he was angry or frightened. Of course, with the speed of those Legendary powerhouses, they wouldn’t be able to hear him even if he was loudly cursing at them now.

At this moment, Forcus also finally followed them in, his face frighteningly pale. In fact, even his lips were trembling slightly. As soon as he entered, he pointed at Delano, and said in a trembling voice, “Delano, is this what you want!? Do you know that you have caused a big trouble!?”

Given Delano’s character, he definitely wouldn’t admit to his mistakes at this juncture even if he knew he was wrong. He turned to look at Lin Li furiously, and hollered, “Tell those people to come back immediately. Otherwise, they can’t blame me for being hostile!”

“b.a.s.t.a.r.d, why don’t you quickly admit your mistake and apologize to Master Felic!?” Before Lin Li could say anything, Forcus was hollering furiously in frustration.

Forcus had just come in from outside, and happened to see the group of Legendary-mages like Claus flying straight over his head in the direction of Helena Port. He obviously knew what they were going to do. He could imagine that they would definitely blow things up, and even his teacher would not be able to resolve the issue by then.

“Hmph, I’m not at fault, so why should I apologize? I don’t believe they would really dare to touch my sailors and navy. Aren’t they afraid of starting a war!?” Despite having an ominous hunch, Delano still did not believe that those people from the Breezy Plains would dare to openly confront the army of the Gilded Kingdom.

At this moment, Lin Li, who had been sipping on his tea while remaining seated leisurely, indifferently said, “It’s not necessary to apologize. Not everything can be solved by an apology. If there’s nothing else, please make yourselves comfortable.”

“Hmph, let’s see how long you can continue pretending!” Delano had no interest in staying there, and turned around to leave after his remark.

Forcus looked at Lin Li hopelessly before looking at Delano who had left with his men. In the end, he gritted his teeth and went out after Delano again. He knew that it was impossible for him to persuade Lin Li to stop. After all, Lin Li’s s.h.i.+p and sailors had been seized, and Delano was still the key to solving this incident.

“Delano, do you really want to push the Breezy Plains to declare war!?” Forcus hollered as soon as he left.

However, Delano simply looked at Forcus in disdain, and said, “The Tower of Dusk is hiding the greatest fugitive of the kingdom, and they are obviously vicious. I refuse to believe it. How dare a bunch of country b.u.mpkins go against us? I will see how bold they are!”

After saying that, Delano took several Legendary powerhouses who were under him towards the Helena Port. Although Delano hadn’t reached the Legendary-level yet, he had a powerful father who was a Sanctuary powerhouse; hence, he naturally had a lot of treasures and means to escape.

Forcus was hopeless when he saw that scene. He reckoned that the only way to resolve this issue was to ask his teacher to intervene. At the thought of this, Forcus turned around and cast the Power of Flight instead of going after Delano. He was ready to ask Elder Zumar to step in and help.

Seeing that Forcus didn’t catch up, the expression on Delano’s face suddenly changed. He no longer seemed as arrogant as before, and was instead worried and panic-stricken. He was not really entirely fearless. He’d initially wanted to save some of the Tower of Dusk’s pride and just teach them a lesson for making him embarra.s.sed previously. However, if this issue really caused a war between the Gilded Kingdom and the Breezy Plains, then while he didn’t know what the Gilded Kingdom would do to him, he was certain that his father would definitely teach him a hard lesson.

Besides, Delano was well aware that the people of the Breezy Plains were all Legendary powerhouses. If they really decided to fight the Fifth Fleet, the latter would probably be severely damaged. Even though he did not care much about the lives of those ordinary warriors, it was a matter of his pride. If the people of his fleet were harmed, wouldn’t it be telling everyone outright that the commander of the fleet was incompetent!?

At this moment, Delano somewhat hoped that the people of the Breezy Plains would not be as courageous as they seemed to be previously. He hoped that perhaps they were just putting on a brave front for the president of the Tower of Dusk.
